Configuring the AMI Readings Import VE service

Configure an ARI readings import validation and estimation (VE) service in IEE for each server that runs the validation and estimation processes on incoming data.

  1. Go to System Administration > Service Management.

  2. Click Add Service and select AMI Reading Import VE Service.

The Service ID is the user-provided service name. The name must be unique.

  3. Select the Enabled checkbox to allow the service to run. An unselected checkbox prevents the service from running.

  4. Set the Preferred and Alternate servers to run this service.

  5. Click Additional Setup to set the following parameters:

    Max Workbin File Size

Enter the maximum size in bytes for files created in a work bin. Itron recommends keeping the default value of 10,240,000. This is the maximum allowed value.

    Processing Window

Defines the data collection window for AMI Readings Import (ARI). Validation begins at the Start Time or as soon as files arrive in the work bins after the start time passes. Estimation begins at the End Time, which is the time the data collection window ends. The data collection window cannot span midnight.

Bypass Forced Estimation at the End of DCW

Defines whether VE runs forced estimation on readings that were expected, but not received, by the end of the data collection window. Select the checkbox to skip forced estimation, clear the checkbox to allow forced estimation. Readings that are imported but bypass estimation are imported with a value of 0 and a reading status of MISSING.

    Workbins to be Processed

Defines the work bins this service will validate and estimate. Click Add and click a Workbin ID to select it. Use Ctrl-click and Shift-click to select multiple work bins. Click OK to assign the work bins to the service. Do not assign work bins 0 or 255 to an AMI Readings Import VE service.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Click Save.
